Contact Us

Are you ready to enjoy a fun Halloween experience with the kids? In a recent year, SmartAsset ranked North Las Vegas as the best city to celebrate Halloween. Henderson and Las Vegas also made the list at #2 and #6, respectively. So, what makes the Las Vegas Valley so great for spooky fun? A combination of great weather, safety, family-friendly areas, and festiveness!

There are tons of family-friendly neighborhoods in Las Vegas where you can enjoy safe, fun trick-or-treating. Here are some of the safest neighborhoods for Halloween, with dense single-family homes and good participation from homeowners. Many areas also offer community events with safe trunk-or-treating.

Summerlin

Summerlin is one of the best places to live in the Las Vegas Valley for families, thanks to its low crime rate and amenities. There are tons of events to check out for safe trick-or-treating, including the annual Parade of Mischief and Treat Street in Downtown Summerlin.

Tivoli Village will host Skellington’s Spooktacular on October 25, 2024. Stop by for Trunk-or-Treating, enjoy a screening of The Nightmare Before Christmas, and meet your favorite characters!

Tule Springs

This North Las Vegas community is one of the safest neighborhoods in the Las Vegas Valley. The Villages at Tule Springs is a new master-planned community divided into four villages. It’s home to many family-friendly subdivisions and active adult neighborhoods. In 2019, Tule Springs in Las Vegas was named one of America’s 20 best neighborhoods for trick-or-treating.

Peccole Ranch

This master-planned community in Western Las Vegas is one of the safest neighborhoods in Las Vegas. Located next to Summerlin and The Lakes, Peccole Ranch is known for its great amenities, like disc golf and green belts.

Many tree-lined subdivisions in the 46-acre community are popular with trick-or-treaters. They’re easy to spot: look for streets with spooky decorations! The community also hosts a Trunk or Treat and Movie in the Paseo event for Peccole Ranch families.

Red Rock Country Club

This luxury community is known for going all out for Halloween, with golf cart decorating contests and a haunted house. The gated community also hosts an annual Halloween bash with food, games, crafts, and safe trick-or-treating.

For the 2024 Halloween event, tickets are $10 for parents and adults and free for kids of all ages in costume. You can buy tickets through the nonprofit i-m-perfect.

Green Valley Ranch in Henderson

Green Valley is a sprawling community divided into Green Valley Ranch, Green Valley South, and Green Valley North. It was the first master-planned community in Southern Nevada. The Green Valley Ranch neighborhood is a safe place for trick-or-treating, with plenty of subdivisions handing out candy.

The District at Green Valley Ranch is a large mixed-use development in the neighborhood next to the Green Valley Ranch hotel-casino. Every year, it hosts Monster Mash on Main Street, billed as “safe trick-or-treating” for families. Enjoy live music, meet famous monsters like Dracula, and trick-or-treat at businesses along Main Street.

Safety Tips For Trick-or-Treating in Las Vegas

In recent years, pedestrian accidents have increased in the Las Vegas Valley. The risk of pedestrian deaths increases by 43% on Halloween compared to any other night. Children between four and eight are ten times more likely to be struck by a car on Halloween than at any other time of the year.

Of course, car accidents are not the only risk on Halloween. These safety tips can help your family enjoy a fun, safe trick-or-treat experience.

  • Make sure that your children wear costumes that are easily visible to drivers. Add reflective tape to costumes and treat bags if needed.
  • Teach children to watch for cars backing up, and avoid crossing between parked cars or darting into the street.
  • Kids should use sidewalks. If there are no sidewalks in the neighborhood, walk facing traffic.
  • An adult should inspect candy after returning home. Throw away any candy with the packaging opened. Be mindful of choking hazards for small children, like small, hard candy.

Clark County’s Inside by 9 campaign encourages neighborhoods to wrap up trick-or-treating by 9 pm. Drivers are reminded to drive slowly and take extra time to look for children around corners, at intersections, and on curbs. Kids may move unexpectedly, including darting across the street.
